Mantra has announced that tech giant Google Cloud is now a validator and infrastructure provider for the layer-1 blockchain MANTRA Chain.
Google Cloud’s Role in MANTRA Chain
MANTRA Chain, which launched its mainnet on October 23, is an L1 blockchain focused on tokenized real-world assets. The partnership with Google Cloud aims to drive innovation in the real-world assets market, according to the platform’s statement.
Google Cloudβs Crypto Collaborations
Google Cloud has a history of collaborations in the cryptocurrency sector, including partnerships with Flare, Aptos, Sui, Mysten Labs, Zilliqa, and Fireblocks. These partnerships, whether as a node operator, oracle service, or strategic alliance, are crucial for the overall growth of web3.
Support for Real-World Assets
As MANTRAβs primary validator and infrastructure provider, Google Cloud supports real-world assets through an RWA accelerator program. This initiative also includes a testnet faucet, utilizing Google Cloudβs newly launched web3 Portal. Developers can receive free MANTRA testnet tokens as they build decentralized applications within the MANTRA ecosystem.
Real-World Assets Accelerator Program
The MANTRA Incubator will use Google Cloud to offer cloud credits to select projects focused on RWA initiatives. This program is set to launch in Q1 2025, and developers will also gain technical support from Googleβs web3 and artificial intelligence experts.
Partnership with BCW Group
MANTRA will collaborate with web3 and AI infrastructure solutions firm BCW Group as the implementation partner for this Google Cloud partnership.
Market Response and Token Performance
The OM token experienced slight gains following the Google Cloud announcement, rising approximately 2% within 24 hours. This comes as OM staking rewards go live on the MANTRA mainnet, allowing users to bridge their ERC-20 OM tokens to mainnet OM, with the option to stake to a validator.
Notably, the number of MANTRA validators has increased with the addition of Google Cloud.
