Over 77% of TRUMP Holders Earn Less Than $100, While Whales Pocket Millions

A recent analysis by Chainalysis reveals that the majority of crypto wallets holding the Official Trump meme coin have not generated significant profits. Over 77% of these wallets have earned less than $100, while a small group of whales have gained over $10 million each.

Small-Time Investors Dominate the Market

According to Chainalysis, over 80% of TRUMP and MELANIA meme coin holders are investors who hold less than $1,000 worth of assets on Solana. This suggests that retail buying activity is driving the market, with most wallets holding less than $100 worth of the meme coins.

A detailed profit-loss breakdown shows that the majority of wallets are hovering around breakeven or earning less than $100. Approximately 600,000 wallets fall into this bracket, dominating the market. In contrast, only around 60 wallets hold the largest profits, surpassing $10 million in realized gains.

New Investors Enter the Solana Ecosystem

Chainalysis notes that approximately half of the holders of TRUMP and MELANIA meme coins are new to the Solana ecosystem. Nearly 50% of these new holders have never bought a Solana altcoin before, and a significant number created their wallets on the same day they purchased the tokens.

Concentration of Supply and Profit-Taking

After minting 1 billion TRUMP meme coins, most of the supply went to just four wallets to hold or provide liquidity to exchanges. Meanwhile, the price of TRUMP dropped to $38.50 on Tuesday, Jan. 21, down by about 50% from its peak on Sunday, bringing the meme coin’s market valuation to approximately $7.6 billion.

Data compiled by Nansen reveals that the most profitable TRUMP whales have sold most or all of their holdings to take profits.
