David Bailey, CEO of Bitcoin Magazine, aims to raise $15 million for former President Donald Trump during an upcoming conference in Nashville.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump will attend the Bitcoin Conference in Nashville, Tennessee, where the event is expected to assist him in raising $15 million from donors, according to sources familiar with the situation.

Bitcoin Magazine chief executive David Bailey has reportedly proposed the idea of the conference multiple times to Trump and his representatives, promising to organize a fundraiser in Nashville.

Sources indicate that at least two donors who discussed cryptocurrency with Trump mentioned that the former president pledged support even though he β€œdidn’t seem to know the intricacies of cryptocurrency.” Nonetheless, Trump views the crypto community as a potential asset in his bid to return to the presidency.

β€œTrump understands that the Biden administration has mishandled crypto policy and misjudged its significance.”

Trump donor and Multicoin Capital co-founder Kyle Samani emphasized that many crypto enthusiasts are single-issue voters with financial resources, looking for a candidate to support. He added that Trump and his team recognize this and are capitalizing on it.

Recently, senior White House officials met with crypto executives to hear various complaints, although the specifics of these discussions remain undisclosed. Trump is scheduled to speak at 2 p.m. CT (19:00 UTC) for 30 minutes on July 27, the final day of the Bitcoin Conference in Nashville.
