TRM Labs, a blockchain forensics firm, has recently appointed Boon Hui Khoo as a senior advisor, as part of its strategic efforts to strengthen regulatory outreach, especially in the Asia Pacific region.
Khoo’s role at TRM Labs will involve combating fraud and financial crimes in the cryptocurrency space, as well as fostering closer relationships with regulatory bodies globally. TRM Labs CEO Esteban CastaΓ±o highlighted Khoo’s extensive experience and valuable insights that will enhance collaboration with law enforcement and regulatory partners in the Asia Pacific region.
Boon Hui Khoo, who previously served as Singapore’s Commissioner of Police and Interpol’s president, brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to TRM Labs. His involvement in the Global Commission on the Stability of Cyberspace further underscores his deep understanding of cybersecurity issues.
The appointment of Khoo comes at a time when TRM Labs’ main competitor, Chainalysis, has also made significant additions to its team. Chainalysis recently welcomed former International Revenue Service crime chief Jim Lee as global head of capacity building, focusing on assisting international agencies in developing strategies to combat cryptocurrency-related crimes.
