The Sandbox metaverse is introducing a new virtual neighborhood called Cinerama to spark interest in the virtual world. Users can purchase digital properties in Cinerama to collaborate, share ideas, and create immersive movie experiences.
With over 400 digital land plots available, The Sandbox has already sold 70% of the 165,000 LAND NFTs on the platform. The new area will feature famous American films like The Walking Dead, Black Mirror, Peaky Blinders, and Cheech and Chong, in collaboration with production companies such as Skydance and Lionsgate.
The price of The Sandbox’s native token (SAND) showed minimal reaction to this news, with a 0.93% increase to $0.417 in the past 24 hours. However, trading volumes surged by 125.49%, reaching $224 million.
In September, the Binance NFT Marketplace ceased support for non-fungible tokens on the Polygon network, including staking The Sandbox. Users were required to withdraw their assets from the platform, leading to the cancellation of affected listings and the return of assets to users’ accounts.
Analysts are optimistic about the future of projects like Axie Infinity, Tradecurve Markets, and The Sandbox in the cryptocurrency and blockchain space.
