The Starknet Foundation recently announced the formation of a Game Committee to drive growth within its ecosystem. The Game Committee (GC) will focus on developing strategies and initiatives to expand into the entertainment sector.
Comprised of experts from the cryptocurrency and gaming industries, the six-person committee will work on creating programs to attract developers from the interactive entertainment field.
The main objective of the Committee is to design and propose initiatives that incentivize developers to build games on Starknet and encourage users to engage with them.
The Starknet Foundation aims to introduce games based on its platform to attract new users. The success of the committee’s efforts will be evaluated based on metrics such as daily user count, audience retention, and revenue generation.
In a similar move, the Starknet Foundation had previously established a DeFi Committee in November 2023. This committee, also consisting of six members, focuses on implementing and monitoring liquidity stimulation programs within the decentralized finance ecosystem on Starknet.
Last month, the Starknet Foundation distributed over 700 million tokens of the Starknet network to nearly 1.3 million addresses. Users have the opportunity to claim tokens within a four-month window, after which unclaimed tokens will be returned to the distribution pool.
However, despite the token distribution, the number of active users on the Starknet network saw a significant 57% drop, leading to a sharp decline in the price of Starknet’s native token.
