Blockchain developer ShardLab has introduced a new web application designed to simplify voucher distribution via NFTs. This new tool uses account abstraction (AA) and zero-knowledge proofs (ZK) technology to streamline the use of decentralized identity and voucher distribution.

Innovative Use of Zero-Knowledge Technology

The application leverages zero-knowledge technology to confirm user identity without sharing private information. Users can receive and redeem vouchers in the form of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) through QR codes.

β€œThis implementation demonstrated the practicality and efficiency of blockchain technology in a real-world retail environment,” ShardLab says.

Successful Launch at Southeast Asia Blockchain Week 2024

The launch was a result of a successful demonstration at the Southeast Asia Blockchain Week 2024. Attendees integrated NFT vouchers with the point-of-sale (POS) systems at over 60 restaurants and shops at ICONSIAM, a themed shopping mall in Bangkok. This event showcased the practical use of blockchain technology in retail.

Seamless Voucher Redemption

Thanks to account abstraction and NFTs, attendees could redeem their vouchers by simply scanning a QR code. The voucher amount was automatically deducted from the bill, eliminating traditional hurdles associated with smart contract usage.

Future of Blockchain Technology

Hojin Kim, CEO of ShardLab, emphasized that integrating technologies like zero-knowledge proofs and account abstraction paves the way for a future where blockchain is secure, straightforward, and convenient for everyday users.
