Revolut, the European neobank, has teamed up with MetaMask to streamline the process of purchasing cryptocurrency directly into MetaMask wallets. The new collaboration, called Revolut Ramp, will be accessible to customers in the U.K. and European Economic Area (EEA).
In a recent blog post, Consensys, the company behind MetaMask, announced that Revolut Ramp aims to simplify the process of adding crypto to self-custody wallets.
Through Revolut Ramp, customers in select regions can now buy up to 20 different cryptocurrencies, including Ethereum (ETH) and stablecoins like USD Coin (USDC), directly into their MetaMask wallets. This integration allows Revolut users to skip additional verification checks by relying on existing verification from the Revolut app.
“This partnership is really about giving our users what they want β more control over their crypto, in a straightforward way, using platforms they already know and trust,” said Lorenzo Santos, senior product manager at Consensys.
For Revolut, this collaboration marks another step into the crypto space. The digital bank had previously revealed plans for its own cryptocurrency exchange tailored for advanced traders. The exchange is expected to offer features such as limit and market orders, enabling users to purchase tokens at real-time prices and buy assets at specific pre-determined prices.
While the exact timeline for the public launch of Revolut’s crypto exchange is unclear, as the platform is currently in beta mode, the partnership with MetaMask signals the neobank’s commitment to providing innovative crypto solutions to its customers.
