Pump.fun’s revenue has surpassed $30 million as meme coins continue to create their own waves in the cryptocurrency landscape.

Over the past month, the focus has been on memes. Roaring Kitty, known for the 2021 GameStop rally, made a return to X. Pump.fun, the meme coin launchpad, faced an internal exploit amounting to $1.9 million by a former employee. Additionally, Kabosu, the Shiba Inu face of Dogecoin, has passed away.

The crypto market has been revitalized by the approval of the spot Ethereum ETF 19b-4 and some encouraging inflation data from the U.S. this month. However, the meme fuel remained strong, especially in the past week. The emerging subsector PolitiFi (Political Finance), featuring meme coins linked to legislators by name but with no official affiliation, has once again become a hub of trading activity following former president Donald Trump’s guilty verdict in his hush-money trial.

Perhaps the most notable news is the resurgence of celebrities in the crypto space. Many A-list celebrities engaged with crypto in 2021 and 2022 but went silent as the hype dwindled. Caitlyn Jenner recently launched her token on Pump.fun and promoted it on X and Instagram, confirming her involvement through a video. Jenner later launched the token on Ethereum (ETH), using the collected fees to support Trump.

Rapper Iggy Azalea also made her mark by launching her token $MOTHER independently on Solana, seemingly in response to a promoter attempting to launch an IGGY token.

Boosting Pump.fun revenue

Despite Jenner being the only celebrity to use Pump.fun for her Solana (SOL) meme coin, the platform’s meme energy was palpable. Following an exploit less than two weeks ago, Pump.fun rebounded by posting its highest revenue day on May 30th, earning $1.48 million.

This spike in revenue suggests that users are actively launching many tokens, aiming to create the next meme coin with substantial returns. According to DeFiLlama, Pump.fun has generated $31.8 million in revenue since its inception. This is noteworthy given that nearly half a million tokens were created on Solana in the past month alone.
