The Theta Network is a blockchain-powered, decentralized video streaming platform. It enables users to watch videos and earn tokens by sharing their internet bandwidth and computing resources on a peer-to-peer basis. Theta's Unique Consensus Mechanism

Theta operates on a unique multi-Byzantine Fault Tolerance (BFT) consensus mechanism, which is a modification of the proof-of-stake system. This combines a committee of 20-30 Validator nodes with an additional layer of thousands of Guardian nodes. This setup accelerates approvals and outperforms traditional proof-of-work networks in speed. The balance achieved by Theta’s multi-BFT design ensures consistency, speed, and decentralization.
