POKT Network has recently launched three new Gateways in collaboration with Developer DAO, Porters, and Chainstack, expanding its decentralized infrastructure. This move aims to provide developers with improved access to over 60 blockchains, in line with POKT Network’s strategy to enhance API accessibility through its Universal RPC Base Layer.

According to a press release shared with Crypto.news, the addition of these Gateways signifies a significant milestone for POKT Network and its ecosystem. It will offer reliable and cost-effective data access solutions, empowering developers and businesses to enhance application quality and user experience.

Dermot O’Riordan, Director at the POKT Network Foundation, likened these Gateways to Layer 2 solutions in terms of scalability improvement. This enables developers to connect directly to a scalable and dependable decentralized infrastructure, paving the way for future unfettered, secure, and universally available access to large open data sources.

Gateways enable various businesses to provide access to POKT Network’s infrastructure without the need for direct maintenance, promoting a decentralized business model. This structure aims to reduce market entry times, operational costs, and prioritize customer service enhancements.

POKT Network has significantly expanded its Gateway offerings since its inception, growing from a single Gateway to six in just seven months. This expansion reflects a strategic effort to enhance network capacity.

Daniel Olshansky, Head of Protocol at POKT Network, highlighted the strategy’s division of responsibilities, with protocol participants focusing on infrastructure maintenance, Gateways on performance, and users gaining access to reliable and affordable services.

The collaboration with Developer DAO, Porters, and Chainstack holds promise for driving network growth and fostering innovation. Developer DAO aims to reinvest RPC revenues into public goods, showcasing a model where technological advancements benefit the common good. Porters and Chainstack bring technical expertise and significant volume potential to the partnership.

Looking ahead, POKT Network is gearing up for the Shannon Upgrade in the summer of 2024. This upgrade is set to simplify integration for RPC providers and projects, facilitating access to data across various blockchains and AI. It is expected to support a wider range of use cases and promote collaboration within the decentralized data infrastructure space.
