Le Poisson Rouge (LPR), a renowned music venue in New York City, has entered into an exclusive partnership with KYD Labs to transition its ticketing system to the blockchain.
Four-Year Deal with Aptos Blockchain
On Tuesday, Aptos Labs announced that KYD Labs and LPR have signed a four-year agreement to use the Aptos blockchain for all shows and ticketing at the historic NYC venue. This partnership marks the first time a major U.S. venue has fully adopted blockchain technology for ticketing.
A Milestone for Web3
The collaboration is a significant milestone for Web3, offering a new experience for Le Poisson Rougeβs event-goers and music fans. Avery Ching, the CTO and co-founder of Aptos Labs, emphasized the advantages of on-chain ticketing. “A major US venue with hundreds of thousands of tickets per year transitioning to on-chain ticketing is a big step forward for blockchain utility. Eventually, ticketing will all be on-chain. Better interoperability, directly connecting event organizers to buyers, easy promotions, and verified secondary sales are some big advantages.”
Benefits for Fans and Artists
KYD Labs aims to enhance the ticketing experience for fans by leveraging blockchain technology. This will also benefit artists, who can engage more effectively with their audience through on-chain initiatives.
Advantages of On-Chain Ticketing
Transitioning to an on-chain system eliminates many challenges associated with traditional ticketing systems. LPR will use Aptos to:
- Monitor secondary ticket sales
- Offer a transparent loyalty program
- Manage pricing and booking rates
