This price is approximately $4,600 lower than the average purchase price Metaplanet paid for its latest acquisition. Bitcoin’s 24-hour peak stood at $105,804, reflecting ongoing market volatility.

Bitcoin’s market capitalization remains robust at $2 trillion, with a daily trading volume of $18.6 billion. Notably, daily trading volume has risen by 15.3% compared to the previous day, signaling increased market activity.

Metaplanet’s BTC Yield Performance

In addition to its Bitcoin purchases, Metaplanet disclosed updates on its BTC Yield, a metric that measures the period-over-period percentage ratio of the company’s Bitcoin holdings to its fully diluted shares outstanding.

During the first quarter of 2025, spanning January 1 to March 31, Metaplanet achieved a BTC Yield of 95.6%. However, this marked a significant decline from the end of 2024, when the BTC Yield peaked at 309.8%. For the period from April 1 to June 2, the BTC Yield stood at 66.3%, reflecting a downward trend.

Funding Strategy for Bitcoin Purchases

To fund its Bitcoin acquisitions, Metaplanet recently issued its largest set of 0% ordinary bonds, worth $50 million, to the venture capital firm EVO FUND. According to the company, the proceeds from these bond issuances are earmarked for further Bitcoin purchases, underscoring its commitment to expanding its cryptocurrency portfolio.

Metaplanet’s strategic focus on Bitcoin highlights the growing adoption of cryptocurrencies as a long-term investment vehicle among institutional players. As the market evolves, the firm’s approach may serve as a benchmark for other corporations exploring similar investment opportunities.
