Italian sports car manufacturer Lamborghini and Animoca Brands have announced a collaboration to enhance automotive brand engagement through innovative digital experiences.

Automobili Lamborghini, the renowned Italian luxury sports car maker, has partnered with Hong Kong-based crypto firm Animoca Brands to leverage their expertise in creating unique experiences for Lamborghini’s fans and customers. This collaboration, announced on August 8, aims to push the boundaries of brand engagement within the automotive industry.

While specific details of the collaboration remain undisclosed, web3 creative design studio Gravitaslabs and Motorverse, an Animoca Brands venture focused on digital vehicles, have been chosen as exclusive partners for this initiative.

Lamborghini Deepens Its Blockchain Roots

This is not Lamborghini’s first venture into blockchain technology. In August 2022, the luxury automaker partnered with NFT PRO and INVNT to launch a series of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) featuring its iconic vehicles in various locations under the title β€œRoad Trip NFT.”

The project, which continued until March 2023, released monthly collections of NFTs, each available for a limited time. This initiative was part of Lamborghini’s broader strategy to explore modern collecting and engage new generations through digital art and NFTs. Lamborghini’s marketing director, Christian Mastro, described NFTs as a β€œnew exclusive, unconventional proposal” and a β€œnew form of expression for new generations.”

In addition, Lamborghini made headlines when RM Sotheby’s auctioned the last Lamborghini Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae CoupΓ©, paired with a one-of-one NFT, marking a significant crossover between physical luxury and the world of tokenized assets.
