Hamster Kombat’s Token Plunges After Airdrop
Hamster Kombat’s token, HMSTR, experienced a significant decline shortly after the viral Telegram mini-game distributed millions of tokens to users.
Trading data indicates that HMSTR has dropped nearly 60% since its token generation event and exchange listing on September 26. Initially, HMSTR debuted at approximately $0.012 on platforms such as Binance and decentralized trading venue Ebi.
As of now, the cryptocurrency is trading below $0.0058 and has been on a steady decline since its late September launch.
Hamster Kombat’s Popularity and Challenges
Hamster Kombat gained popularity as a mini-game on The Open Network (TON) and the private messenger app Telegram. It aimed to surpass other projects like Notcoin. Despite listing delays and postponements, over 150 million users flocked to Hamster Kombat’s official game.
Since its listing, however, the community has seen a significant exodus. Users have been leaving the project’s Telegram and other social media channels as HMSTR’s price continues to fall. The token airdrop, described by many participants as lackluster, is likely the primary reason for the subdued price action and reduced community engagement.
Community Reactions and Token Distribution
More than 131 million accounts were eligible for the HMSTR distribution. However, users expressed dissatisfaction with the individual token allocations. Public sentiment suggested boycotting the project hours before its token was listed, and post-distribution responses echoed similar opinions.
“Over two-thirds of the airdrop have already been distributed between our players. 30+ million users have already started trading $HMSTR, with more joining every second.”
Despite the current challenges, the anonymous team behind Hamster Kombat plans to continue developing the TON-powered blockchain game. Last week, the developers updated the roadmap to include future non-fungible token (NFT) support. They also disclosed plans for a web app targeting desktops and smartphones, along with NFT integrations and another airdrop round dubbed “Season 2.”
