FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried will serve his full sentence in prison, according to a crypto lawyer. In an interview, Carlo D’Angelo stated that Bankman-Fried does not qualify for parole. Despite this, there is a possibility of early release if the U.S. Federal Bureau of Prisons grants him good behavior status.

However, even with good behavior, the reduction in sentence length will not be significant, as most inmates serve 85% of their sentences. This would mean that Bankman-Fried could spend at least 21 years in prison. The chance of a presidential pardon from Joe Biden was also ruled out by the expert.

Bankman-Fried, convicted of fraud charges, will have his time spent in custody awaiting sentencing counted towards his prison term. The specific penitentiary facility where he will serve his sentence will be determined based on various factors, including his case details and psychological state.

Sam Bankman-Fried received a 25-year prison sentence in late March on charges related to fraud, financial fraud, embezzlement, conspiracy, and money laundering. The future of FTX after his sentencing remains uncertain.
