Nana Murugesan, the former executive responsible for international expansion at Coinbase, has joined Matter Labs as president to lead the growth of the zkSync technology.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Murugesan expressed his excitement about his new role as president at Matter Labs. He emphasized his goal of helping the company reach new heights of success.

Murugesan plans to oversee a team of 60 employees and launch a recruitment campaign in the coming months. The company will focus on expanding its marketing, legal, and policy efforts.

Before joining Matter Labs, Murugesan held the position of vice president of international and business development at Coinbase. He has a background in various roles at companies like Snap Inc., Samsung Electronics, and The Boston Consulting Group.

Matter Labs recently raised $200 million in funding, increasing its valuation to an estimated range of $800 million to $1.2 billion. Investors in the project include a16z, Blockchain Capital, Dragonfly Capital, and Lightspeed Venture Partners.
