The total value locked in Ethereum restaking protocols has surged to $8.35 billion, with ether.fi leading the way at over $3.2 billion. Renzo follows with $2 billion, and Puffer comes in third with $1.3 billion in TVL.

EigenLayer also experienced a significant increase in activity, raising $1.18 billion on Feb. 5 after lifting the cap on maximum restaked assets to 200,000 ETH. In just one day, the protocol’s TVL soared by over $1.5 billion.

In recent news, the restaking TVL figure hit $3.5 billion on Feb. 20, marking a growth of over 100% in less than two months. The sector saw rapid expansion in February, with ether.fi and Puffer leading the way with TVLs of $1.36 billion and $1.02 billion, respectively. Ethereum holds a dominant position in defi applications with a TVL of $52 billion, representing 56% of the total.

The demand for staking and network activity saw a notable increase following the Shapella upgrade in April 2023, allowing users to withdraw blocked cryptocurrency. Liquid staking protocols are paving the way for Ethereum validators in this new era of decentralized finance.
