Ethereum Blockchain Leads in One-Year Revenue, Surpassing Major Competitors

According to recent data, the Ethereum blockchain has secured the top position in terms of one-year revenue, outpacing all other major blockchains. Ethereum generated an impressive $2.72 billion in revenue over the past year, significantly surpassing the Bitcoin network, which accumulated $1.3 billion in the same period.

Top 10 Blockchains by One-Year Fee Revenue

Here are the top 10 blockchains based on their one-year fee revenue:

  • Ethereum: $2.728 billion per year
  • Bitcoin: $1.302 billion per year
  • Tron Network: $459.39 million per year

Additional data from Defi Llama indicates that Ethereum remains the leader in the decentralized finance (DeFi) sector with a total value locked (TVL) of $58.4 billion, representing 60.9% of the market. The blockchain recorded a 30-day fee income of $131 million, according to the data aggregator.

Bitcoin’s TVL currently stands at $1 billion. Ethereum, the network for the second-largest cryptocurrency, experienced a 155% year-over-year increase in fee revenue in Q1, driven by a bullish crypto market.

Tron ranks third with a one-year revenue of $459 million. Solana and BSC also achieved significant fee incomes of $241 million and $176 million, respectively.

DeFi Market Leaders

Tron is the second-largest chain in the DeFi sector with a TVL of $7.7 billion. BSC and Solana hold the third and fourth spots with TVLs of $4.8 billion and $4.5 billion, respectively, as reported by Defi Llama.

Avalanche, zkSync Era, Optimism, and Polygon also made it to the top 10 with one-year revenues of $68 million, $59 million, $40 million, and $23 million, respectively.
