dYdX is currently experiencing a chain halt following a scheduled upgrade, which is its first major outage since the launch of its fourth version. The Cosmos-based dYdX Chain stopped producing blocks on Apr. 8 after the network upgrade. The project’s status page indicates that the issue is still under investigation, with plans to reconvene with validators around 15:00 UTC.

According to Mintscan data, the dYdX Chain ceased production at approximately 6:50 a.m. UTC, marking one of the first major outages for the dYdX ecosystem since its transition from Ethereum to Cosmos. This incident occurred shortly after Starknet, a layer-2 solution on Ethereum, also faced block production issues due to a rounding error bug. At present, dYdX has not made any public statements on social media regarding the chain halt.

dYdX introduced its dYdX Chain in October 2023, allowing DYDX token holders to transfer funds from the Ethereum network to the new platform, enhancing the token’s utility. The decision to migrate from Ethereum was announced in early 2022 due to concerns about the network’s scalability challenges.
