German mobile communications giant Deutsche Telekom MMS has teamed up with Subsquid to enhance the data lake by running nodes. Deutsche Telekom, one of the largest telecommunications providers in Europe, has partnered with the decentralized protocol Subsquid to manage the data lake through network nodes.

Deutsche Telekom and Subsquid Partnership

In a recent press release, the Bonn-headquartered telecom giant announced that a Deutsche Telekom subsidiary has begun running its infrastructure to support the data lake by operating worker nodes. These nodes have been live since earlier this summer.

Dirk RΓΆder, head of Deutsche Telekom’s web3 infrastructure & solutions team, praised Subsquid’s solution as a significant advancement for web3. RΓΆder highlighted the project’s potential, stating,

β€œIt unlocks the true potential of blockchain data, making it readily accessible and usable for developers and users alike. With our enterprise-grade infrastructure setup, we bolster the security and scalability of the network, providing the foundation for Subsquid’s powerful decentralized Data Lake technology.”

Subsquid co-founder Marcel Fohrmann added that the partnership signifies a notable level of legitimacy and security for the network and all blockchain technology.

Deutsche Telekom’s Blockchain Involvement

Deutsche Telekom has also been running validators for other blockchain protocols such as Polygon, Ethereum, and Polkadot. This partnership with Subsquid, founded in 2021 by Dmitry Zhelezov and Marcel Fohrmann, reinforces efforts to address challenges related to blockchain data accessibility and the high costs of data retrieval.

Initially designed for Polkadot, Subsquid has since expanded to Ethereum and Flare, and has launched a beta version for Solana.
