Chainlink saw a notable increase in developer activity in June, positioning it as the second most active decentralized oracle network behind Hedera, according to Santiment’s market intelligence data.

Based on Santiment’s analysis, Hedera maintained its lead as the top cryptocurrency in terms of GitHub activity. However, Chainlink’s GitHub repository displayed a significant rise in developer events over the past 30 days, propelling it to the second position.

Developer Activity in June

Santiment shared on July 1 that Chainlink saw a surge in developer activity, ranking it among the top 10 projects by the number of GitHub events in June.

The ranking evaluates development activity by counting non-redundant actions and averaging daily activity over a 30-day period. Hedera led with 759 GitHub events, while Chainlink, operating on Ethereum, recorded 526 events, securing the second spot. Optimism (OP) followed with 481 events, and Internet Computer (ICP) ranked fourth with 434 events. Other notable mentions in the top 10 included Cardano (ADA), Status (SNT), Cosmos (ATOM), ZKsync (ZK), Starknet (STRK), and Aptos (APT).

Market Performance

The developer activity ranking for June stood in contrast to the market performance of these projects. While newly launched Starknet and ZKsync experienced significant volatility post-airdrop, other coins saw declines as the broader market faced downward pressure.

HBAR dropped 25% in June, whereas LINK, OP, ICP, and ADA saw their prices fall by 22%, 28%, 32%, and 10% respectively. Cosmos Hub and Aptos tokens decreased by 19% and 22% over the same period.

Despite the market downturn, high developer activity indicates robust network development, which suggests potential product growth and increased user adoption.

Chainlink’s Recent Integrations

The Chainlink team recently released an adoption update, highlighting 12 integrations of six Chainlink services across eight blockchain networks, including Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, BNB Chain, Ethereum, and Polygon.

One significant integration was the launch of Chainlink Data Streams on Avalanche.
