BNB Surpasses SOL to Become Fifth Largest Cryptocurrency

BNB has overtaken Solana (SOL) to become the fifth largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, driven by a series of planned upgrades outlined in the BNB Chain’s 2025 roadmap.

In the past 24 hours, BNB’s market capitalization has seen a 12% increase to $104 billion, while Solana’s has decreased by 0.1% to $95 billion. On-chain metrics have also shown improvement, with transaction fees rising by 115% in the past week due to a surge in user activity on the BNB Chain.

BNB Chain’s 2025 Roadmap and Upcoming Upgrades

The BNB Chain’s 2025 roadmap focuses on enhancing performance and improving user experience. Key upgrades include reducing block latency from three seconds to under one second, allowing for faster transaction processing, and introducing gasless transactions. Users will be able to utilize stablecoins or other BEP-20 tokens to pay transaction fees for gasless transactions.

Additional upgrades include the release of smart wallets with AI capabilities, which are expected to improve the experience for both new and experienced users. These wallets will simplify tasks such as managing keys, completing multiple transactions at once, and paying for gas.

BNB Chain is also exploring AI tools that could help users manage their portfolios, compare prices, and automate trading. These developments are expected to further enhance the user experience and drive adoption of the BNB Chain.

Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, the founder of Binance, has sparked a fresh memecoin frenzy on social media. CZ’s recent post asking about the process of creating memecoins has led to rumors about a potential new memecoin. If CZ launches a memecoin, it could further boost BNB Chain’s on-chain activity and lead to a surge in BNB’s price.
