South Korean Crypto Exchange Bithumb Lists Goatseus Maximus Meme Coin

South Korean cryptocurrency exchange Bithumb has announced the addition of Goatseus Maximus (GOAT) to its listings. The meme coin, which is based on the Solana blockchain, will be available for trading in Korean won pairs starting December 17 at 04:00 UTC.

Listing Details

According to Bithumb’s notice, deposits and withdrawals for GOAT will begin two hours after the announcement was made. However, buying and selling orders will be restricted within the first five minutes of trading. The base price of GOAT on Bithumb will be 976 won, equivalent to $0.67.

Market Performance

Interestingly, the listing of GOAT on Bithumb did not seem to have a significant impact on its price. Shortly after the announcement, the token’s value rose by nearly 4% before dropping by 1.16% a few hours later. In the past 24 hours, GOAT has declined by 0.9%. This is in contrast to the general trend, where tokens often experience a surge in value after being listed on major exchanges.

However, it’s worth noting that GOAT has gained 22% in value over the past week, according to data from crypto news. In the past month, the token has declined by nearly 42%. GOAT was recently dethroned from its second rank among AI meme coins by FARTCOIN, but its market cap has since been restored to $709 million with a 24-hour trading volume of $452 million.

About Goatseus Maximus

Goatseus Maximus originated from a viral meme called Goatse, which was promoted by an AI chatbot called Truth Terminal. The GOAT token was created on pump.fun and quickly gained a market cap of millions shortly after its launch.
