Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has announced the appointment of former TV host Gracy Chen as its new chief executive, following the departure of Sandra Lou.

Sandra Lou, who has been with Bitget since its inception in 2018, is stepping down to focus on her own business endeavors. In a statement released on May 21, Bitget confirmed that Gracy Chen will take over the leadership role. Chen expressed her excitement about continuing to shape the industry and contribute to the future of digital finance.

β€œI’m thrilled to continue to be part of shaping this industry that is on the edge of innovation, empowering the future of digital finance.”

Gracy Chen joined Bitget in June 2022 as its first managing director, where she spearheaded the exchange’s international growth strategies. Prior to her role at Bitget, she gained experience as a host on the crypto TV show “Killer Whales.”

Sandra Lou’s departure follows a period of speculation and rumors. Just four months ago, multiple users on social media platform X reported that senior Bitget executives had allegedly disappeared and that the exchange was experiencing solvency issues. In response, Chen categorically denied these claims, assuring customers that Bitget was operating normally and that the team was preparing for the next market uptrend.
