Renowned digital artist Beeple has announced that his first solo museum show will be held at the Deji Museum in Nanjing, China, in November 2024.
On his social media account, Michael Joseph Winkelmann, known professionally as Beeple, shared a video from the Deji Museum revealing his debut solo exhibition. The event is scheduled to take place on November 14, 2024.
Beeple: Tales From A Synthetic Future
The exhibition, titled Beeple: Tales From A Synthetic Future, will showcase significant digital art pieces from Beepleβs illustrious career. The Deji Museum has declared this event as Beepleβs largest solo exhibition to date. It will feature some of his most iconic works, including Everydays, Human One, S.2122, and exclusive pieces created for the Nanjing exhibition.
“I am pleased to announce my first-ever solo museum show opening at the Deji Museum in Nanjing, China next month,” said Beeple.
Latest Artwork: The Tree of Knowledge
On October 1, Beeple unveiled his latest artwork, The Tree of Knowledge. This piece features a kinetic sculpture series initially introduced in his work Human One. The artwork depicts a digital tree overlapped with news footage from various media outlets.
“By turning the dial between signal and noise, viewers see the difference between a serene future where technology and nature coexist and a chaotic present filled with real-time data, media, and information overload,” Beeple explained.
The Tree of Knowledge was first presented at the Italian Tech Week, where it was announced that Lingotto had acquired the piece. The funds from this acquisition are directed towards Beeple Studiosβs non-profits, Art into Acres and Big Green.
Beeple’s Influence in the NFT Space
Over the years, Beeple has become a highly acclaimed artist in the non-fungible token (NFT) space. He gained significant recognition for being the first artist to have a digital piece sold via Christieβs famous auction house. One of his notable works, “FTX Board Meeting, Day #5676 11.13.2022 (2023)”, inspired by the controversial events involving Sam Bankman-Fried and the FTX staff, has been permanently added to The Castello di Rivoli Museo dβArte Contemporanea in Italy.
