The Arbitrum Foundation has partnered with Ubisoft and Sequence to launch a new game called ‘Captain Laserhawk: The G.A.M.E.’ This game, built on the Arbitrum blockchain, is an extension of the ‘Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix’ series produced by Ubisoft.
The G.A.M.E. to Leverage Arbitrum Blockchain
Announced on August 6, the new game will utilize the Arbitrum blockchain for its core functionalities, leveraging the platformβs scalability and user onboarding technology. Additionally, the gaming adventure will incorporate Sequenceβs blockchain tooling.
‘Captain Laserhawk: The G.A.M.E.’ will feature iconic characters from major franchise titles such as Assassinβs Creed, Rayman, and Beyond Good and Evil. Nicolas Pouard from Ubisoft Labs mentioned,
βWith Arbitrumβs supercharged blockchain infrastructure and Sequenceβs full web3 stack as the foundation, Captain Laserhawk: the G.A.M.E. is poised to be a groundbreaking player-driven project.β
The launch on Arbitrum enables users to shape the gameβs story, gameplay, and side experiences, making it a unique, player-driven project.
Boost for Arbitrumβs Gaming Ecosystem
Nina Rong, head of ecosystem development at the Arbitrum Foundation, highlighted that this collaboration will further enhance the blockchain networkβs gaming ecosystem. She noted,
βItβs exciting to see leading gaming studios, like Ubisoft, look to Arbitrum to support their ambitious community-driven project β a notable step towards increased adoption and accessibility in the industry. Arbitrumβs gaming ecosystem continues to flourish, and an increased focus from legacy studios will only expedite that growth.β
In June 2024, the Arbitrum Foundation unveiled a $215 million incentive program aimed at catalyzing gaming development on Arbitrum. The initiative plans to distribute 225 million ARB to top game developers building on the network.
Top Arbitrum games include Rumble Racing Star, GOAT Gaming, GombleGames, Treasure, and Crypto Unicorns.
