Aptos Labs, the team behind the layer-1 blockchain, has partnered with Google Cloud to enhance gaming experiences with web3 capabilities.

Google Cloud is expanding its blockchain partnerships by collaborating with Aptos Labs, the developers of the Aptos blockchain. This partnership aims to integrate gaming into the web3 landscape, providing a unified platform called “Aptos GameStack” for creating, integrating, and linking blockchain elements within video games.

With the support of Google Cloud, Aptos plans to improve its solution by incorporating analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning products, and web3 game tools. This collaboration aims to bring the benefits of web3 technology to a wider audience in the gaming industry.

Jack Buser, director for games, strategic industries at Google, stated, “Games of any kind can now easily harness the power of Web3 technology with Aptos GameStack. Our partnership with Aptos Labs elevates the player benefits of Web3 technology into the mainstream of the games industry.”

Aptos GameStack is set to offer various products, including access to Unity APIs for digital wallets, transactions, non-fungible token (NFT) collections, and other web3 elements. Developers will also be able to implement web2 sign-on scripts for integration with users’ existing social networks like Facebook or Gmail.

The collaboration between Aptos Labs and Google Cloud comes at a time when the total value of web3 gaming tokens has exceeded $30 billion for the first time in years. This growth is attributed to a shift in investor activity towards higher-risk investments, leading to increased exploration beyond traditional cryptocurrencies for potential returns.

The upcoming Game Developer Conference, an annual event for video game developers, is expected to further stimulate interest in web3 gaming among developers, contributing to the rising enthusiasm surrounding gaming tokens.
