The Aptos Foundation recently announced a strategic integration with Movement to enhance its routing infrastructure. This collaboration, revealed on March 13, will see Movement incorporating Aptos Data Availability (DA) capabilities into the Move stack, creating a more advanced routing infrastructure connecting the Movement blockchain.
This integration aims to streamline the interface between Aptos and the Ethereum and Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) networks, ultimately boosting interoperability and functionality across both platforms. Bashar Lazaar, Aptos Foundation’s head of grants and ecosystem, highlighted the significance of this partnership with Movement, emphasizing the potential to onboard EVM protocols, liquidity, and users seamlessly onto Aptos and Movement networks.
Aptos, known for its AptosBFT consensus algorithm and innovative Move programming language for smart contracts, has been actively expanding its reach. In a recent initiative, Aptos partnered with technology firm Jambo to democratize access to web3 in emerging markets. This collaboration led to the launch of the JamboPhone, an affordable smartphone priced at $99 and available for purchase in over 40 countries.
In late February, the native Aptos token (APT) experienced substantial growth, coinciding with a surge in blockchain development activity. The project saw a 268% increase in development contributors, reaching a two-month high of 39 active contributors.
