Crypto PAC Fairshake Amasses $116 Million for 2026 Midterm Elections

Substantial War Chest to Support Crypto-Friendly Candidates

Fairshake, a cryptocurrency-focused super political action committee, has secured over $116 million in contributions from major cryptocurrency industry players ahead of the 2026 midterm elections. The committee, which made a significant impact during the 2024 election, is preparing for the next election cycle with a substantial war chest.

Major Donors Pledge Millions

Coinbase, Ripple, and a16z are among the major donors, each pledging over $20 million to Fairshake. Crypto-focused venture capital firm Jump Crypto has also committed funds, while Uniswap Labs and Robert Leshner, the founder of Superstate, have also contributed to the committee.

The donations will be used to support crypto-friendly candidates in key congressional races during the midterms. In the last election, Fairshake raised over $200 million, with part of the donations going towards supporting crypto-friendly Bernie Moreno against then Ohio senator Sherrod Brown.

Previous Donations and Impact

In 2024, Coinbase contributed over $75 million to Fairshake and affiliated committees, with a commitment of $25 million for the midterm elections. Ripple, which contributed $50 million in 2024, has pledged $20 million this time around. a16z plans to donate $23 million, adding to the over $70 million donated across several election cycles.

“The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s negative approach to crypto is what pushed industry players to create Fairshake.” – Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse
