Theta Labs Partners with Nanyang Technological University to Expand EdgeCloud Adoption
Theta Labs, a decentralized cloud infrastructure platform, has announced its latest partnership with Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore. This collaboration marks the addition of NTU to Theta Labs’ list of major integrations for its EdgeCloud product.
NTU, one of Singapore’s top-ranked universities, will adopt EdgeCloud AI, a hybrid cloud computing platform designed for AI, gaming, rendering, and video. This partnership is expected to further expand EdgeCloud adoption across Singapore and Southeast Asia.
Enhancing Research Capabilities at NTU’s Speech Lab
Professor Chng Eng Siong, NTU’s Speech Lab, stated, “We’ve seen Theta Labs’ success and collaboration with many of the top South Korean and US universities, and we’re excited to use EdgeCloud to scale our research at NTU’s Speech Lab.”
EdgeCloud’s decentralized graphic processing unit infrastructure will be integrated into NTU’s Speech and Language Laboratory. The lab will leverage EdgeCloud’s capabilities to enhance its speech and language AI projects, focusing on real-time transcription and noise reduction.

Theta Labs has previously partnered with prominent academic institutions, including:

Expanding EdgeCloud Adoption Beyond Academia
EdgeCloud has also attracted non-academic customers, such as FlyQuest esports and the National Hockey League’s Las Vegas Golden Knights.
2025 Roadmap for EdgeCloud
Theta Labs’ 2025 roadmap includes the beta launch of EdgeCloud’s hybrid cloud architecture, scheduled for June 25. Key features of this launch will include:
- Distributed edge architecture
- Developer API interface
- GPU node upgrades
