MicroStrategy’s Michael Saylor Presents Bitcoin Strategic Reserve to Microsoft Board
Michael Saylor, Executive Chairman of MicroStrategy, recently presented the advantages of Bitcoin to Microsoft’s board of executives, as he had promised earlier. The presentation, which took place on December 1, highlighted the potential benefits of adopting Bitcoin as part of the company’s balance sheet.
Saylor emphasized that Bitcoin is a transformation of digital capital, and Microsoft needs to adopt it in the next few years. He also projected that Bitcoin will become one of the biggest assets in the world, accounting for $280 trillion of global wealth, exceeding gold and art by $45 trillion and $110 trillion, respectively, in the next 20 years.
Performance Comparison
Saylor noted that Bitcoin has outperformed Microsoft shares by 12 times annually, and MicroStrategy’s shares have jumped to 3,045% after acquiring Bitcoin in the past few years, while Microsoft’s shares only performed 103%.
“Bitcoin is the best asset that you can own. The numbers speak for themselves. It makes a lot more sense to buy Bitcoin than to buy your own stock back, or to hold Bitcoin rather than holding bonds. If you want to outperform, you need Bitcoin.”
Adoption and Growth
Saylor also mentioned that political and market support, such as Trump’s administration and Bitcoin ETF products in the stock market, will contribute to the massive adoption of Bitcoin in the next few years. He presented the board with a choice: stick to conventional financial strategies or innovate by embracing the future of Bitcoin with accelerated growth.
Customized Bitcoin Products and Projections
Saylor offered Bitcoin24, a customized Bitcoin product for corporations, and forecasted that Microsoft’s shares would rise to $584 from the recent share price. He also projected that the company’s market capitalization would surge between $1 trillion and $4.9 trillion per share if it implements Bitcoin’s strategic reserve.
Risk Reduction and Revenue Increase
The value created by the adoption of Bitcoin is expected to decline Microsoft’s shares risk from 95% to 59%, and annual recurring revenue is projected to increase from 10.4% to 15.8%.
