Crypto payments firm MoonPay is partnering with Ripple to bring direct XRP purchases to its customers. MoonPay announced the partnership on Oct. 16, highlighting that its customers can now βbuy, manage and storeβ the XRP cryptocurrency directly within their MoonPay accounts.
XRP joins other popular crypto assets available for MoonPay users to buy and sell directly from the app, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and the stablecoin Tether. The app also allows customers to swap certain cryptocurrencies, including cross-chain swaps.
Expanding Payment Options
Users can buy crypto using credit cards, as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay. The platform has also partnered with PayPal to facilitate crypto purchases in supported jurisdictions.
Strategic Collaborations
The collaboration with Ripple was announced a day after Ripple named MoonPay as one of its exchange partners ahead of the companyβs launch of the stablecoin RLUSD. Earlier this month, MoonPay added support for PayPal USD (PYUSD), a stablecoin issued by the U.S.-based digital payments giant.
Regulatory Approvals
Meanwhile, MoonPay secured a key approval from the Australian regulator AUSTRAC in September. This registration allows MoonPay to offer crypto exchange services in Australia. With regulatory approval, the platform has added support for local payment methods such as Osko and PayID.
βThe partnership with Ripple enhances our offering, giving our users more flexibility and options for their cryptocurrency transactions,β noted a spokesperson from MoonPay.
