Alchemy Pay has announced a strategic partnership with Yellow Card, a fintech company operating across 20 African countries. This collaboration aims to simplify access to cryptocurrency for people in Africa, utilizing familiar payment methods such as bank transfers and mobile money.

The partnership will facilitate easier cryptocurrency purchases for users in countries like South Africa, Rwanda, and Uganda, allowing them to use their local currencies. This move is expected to significantly enhance financial inclusion and provide new financial opportunities for millions of people in these regions.

Recent Integrations and Enhancements

Earlier this month, Alchemy Pay integrated Samsung Pay into its Virtual Card service, further enabling global users to make cryptocurrency payments seamlessly. This addition, along with existing options like Google Pay, enhances the ease of in-store and online transactions.

Key Partnership Details

Alchemy Pay’s core product, the “on-ramp” service, assists users in converting traditional currencies into cryptocurrency. By partnering with Yellow Card, Alchemy Pay can leverage Yellow Card’s extensive payment infrastructure, which processes over $3 billion in transactions and supports various local payment methods.

This collaboration between Alchemy Pay and Yellow Card is set to simplify the process of buying cryptocurrency and participating in decentralized finance (DeFi) for African users.

Expanding Global Services

In June, Alchemy Pay expanded its services by integrating with Scroll, a Layer-2 Ethereum scaling solution. This partnership allowed users to access Tether (USDT) and USD Coin (USDC) through Alchemy Pay’s platform, supporting over 50 fiat currencies across 173 countries.
