Worldcoin Partners with Dune for Enhanced Data Accessibility

Worldcoin is collaborating with Dune to enhance data accessibility for its blockchain network, World Chain. The Worldcoin Foundation announced this partnership on October 11. The collaboration aims to leverage Dune’s web3 data analytics platform to ensure global access to on-chain data.

Ensuring Transparency with Dune

Dune will work closely with Worldcoin, project contributor Tools for Humanity, and the Worldcoin Foundation to provide transparency for on-chain data on World Chain. This partnership is set to precede the blockchain’s mainnet launch. The collaboration will allow World Chain users, including developers, to explore on-chain metrics for real humans, decentralized finance protocols, exchanges, and other blockchain-based public projects.

Worldcoin’s New Blockchain

Founded by OpenAI co-founder Sam Altman, Worldcoin has faced several challenges since its launch in July 2023. These include regulatory hurdles and controversies, particularly regarding its token supply. Despite these issues, the project has seen a significant increase in iris scanning and verification.

In 2024, Worldcoin launched its World ID verification product in European countries such as Poland and Austria, while also expanding into Asia and South America. The company, which offers eligible users the native WLD token after verifying their identity, has encountered setbacks in regions like Hong Kong, Spain, and Portugal.

Introducing World Chain

Worldcoin announced the upcoming launch of World Chain in April, highlighting a blockchain built on OP Stack. The company has partnered with the web3 platform Alchemy to debut this new blockchain.

World Chain will integrate with the World ID, World App, and Worldcoin cryptocurrency. It will also connect with Ethereum and Optimism as part of the Superchain. Users who verify their identity on the chain to prove they are human will enjoy benefits such as priority block space and gas-free transactions.
