Crypto Custodian Hex Trust has joined forces with decentralized finance protocol Clearpool to introduce Ozean, a blockchain platform designed to focus on real-world asset yield.

Strategic Collaboration for Ozean

Hong Kong-based Hex Trust and DeFi credit protocol Clearpool announced their collaboration on X and detailed the partnership in a blog post published on October 8. The new RWA yield platform, Ozean, is supported by Optimism and powered by the CPOOL token.

Leveraging Expertise and Infrastructure

Ozean aims to harness Hex Trust’s regulated infrastructure and institutional client base, alongside Clearpool’s lending expertise, to drive adoption in the real-world asset (RWA) space. Clearpool has already originated over $620 million in loans, with notable clients such as Jane Street, Flow Traders, and Wintermute.

With a client roster of over 270 institutions and more than $5 billion in assets under custody, Hex Trust is poised to significantly contribute to Ozean’s growth. Hex Trust’s clients, which include banks, exchanges, funds, and decentralized applications, are expected to participate in the RWA ecosystem.

“Hex Trust will bring its vast and growing client base, along with our cutting-edge technology infrastructure, to take Ozean to the next level to unlock this trillion-dollar market opportunity,” said Hex Trust’s chief executive officer and co-founder, Alessio Quaglini.

USDX Stablecoin Integration

Ozean will also benefit from the increasing adoption of Hex Trust’s U.S. dollar-pegged stablecoin, USDX, which launched in May. Recently, USDX partnered with Velodrome as its primary decentralized exchange and integrated with LayerZero for cross-chain liquidity.

Global Reach and Expansion

Hex Trust’s services and products are available across multiple countries, including Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai, and France, positioning the firm as a global player in the blockchain and cryptocurrency space.
