EigenLayer has introduced a new Actively Validated Service (AVS) known as Ava Protocol, which will enhance the automation for Sony Block Solution Labs’ new layer-2 blockchain, Soneium. According to the protocol’s press release, Ava Protocol will deploy its event-driven automation infrastructure to power the Soneium Spark incubation program.

This initiative allows creators and developers to monetize and manage their work on Soneium using Ava Protocol’s intent-based, no-code automation. In an interview, Chris Li, the founder of Ava Protocol, highlighted the benefits of their technology, noting its lower computation and storage costs compared to traditional layer-2 solutions.

β€œOur technology provides creators and developers with the tools they need to be truly empowered when it comes to their assets,”

Chris Li further emphasized the ease of bridging assets across layer-2s and layer-1s with Ava Protocol, stating, “Our solutions allow users to bridge assets across layer-2s and layer-1s with a single click.”

With the launch of Ava Protocol’s native asset, Chris Li assured that it would not impact the Soneium integration, as they are considered separate events. Creators on Soneium can use Ava Protocol to tokenize real-world assets, offering opportunities to monetize art, intellectual property, and physical goods through decentralized marketplaces.

Soneium is designed as an open-source, all-purpose blockchain that caters to users across various platforms. Through this partnership, Ava Protocol will be able to execute transactions and smart contracts on Soneium based on specific conditions such as price changes, time, or events. This includes support for recurring payments, stop-loss orders, yield harvesting, and NFT updates and minting.

Previously, Ava Protocol launched an AVS on the Ethereum restaking protocol EigenLayer, achieving a total value locked (TVL) of $3 billion. To date, over 35 ecosystem dApp developers have utilized its automation technology.
