Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is gaining momentum in the crypto community after his appearance at Bitcoin 2024. He recently posted about his new limited-edition Bitcoin-themed sneakers on Truth Social. “Just spoke at the Bitcoin Conference in Nashville, Tennessee on Saturday,” Trump said. “Get your Bitcoin Sneakers now. These are Limited Edition, they are each numbered, and you can now pay with Bitcoin or your favorite Crypto.”

The high-top sneakers, branded in ‘Bitcoin Orange’, are priced at $499. Only 1,000 pairs are available, each uniquely numbered, with five pairs randomly autographed by Trump. These sneakers commemorate the first time a United States President appeared at a Bitcoin Conference and will be shipped between September and November of this year.

Additionally, there are 1,000 other similar-styled shoes available in black for $299 a pair.

Trump’s Crypto Embrace

The former president has embraced cryptocurrency this election cycle, outlining plans to transform U.S. crypto policies if elected. He has vowed to dismiss SEC Chair Gary Gensler and prevent the U.S. from liquidating its Bitcoin holdings, proposing instead the creation of a “strategic Bitcoin reserve.”

Trump also promised to convert all seized Silk Road BTC into this reserve and advocated for the U.S. to never sell their BTC. This move is part of Trump’s broader strategy to appeal to crypto advocates, following his previous actions of accepting political donations in crypto and launching NFT collections.
